Best Settings For Burning/Writing a Playable Bluray?? ("Everybody" Claims To Be An Expert!!!) HELP!

$

My friend said it best here the other night at my place. Everybody claims to be an expert. One guy says, Maximum Bitrate for a Playable Bluray

is 22 with a target of 20, another guy says 25, this guy says that, that guy says this??? Inside Adobe the setting can be set to up to 40???  After awhile

you just want to pull your hair out!!!

Someone please help me here... I honestly get tired a seeing this... "WELL IT ALL DEPENDS WHAT YOU NEED IT FOR, BLA, BLA, BLA"  I need

it to play on a Bluray Player and be the best possible quality that it can be. I would like to know the best possible Transcoding Settings for a playable Bluray.

People all over the net and in the forums ask, yet the answers are a) THIN, and B) Different people say different Bitrates??? I mean is there

someone out there who has actually experimented with these things so many times that they are a TRUE EXPERT with this??

So, what is so difficult about an Adobe expert coming to the forum and saying... THESE ARE THE BEST QUALITY SETTINGS??

Anyway, Questions.

#1 Why is it that if you click Maximum PROPERTIES (right hand window) it will change from Automatic to Maximum quality and the preset that you choose, however over on the right hand side

if you check your project settings the Bitrate stays the same 15??? (Even though the project size goes up in Megabytes as well)  Yet, you can still change the bitrate up to a Maximum of 40 if you want???

#2 Project Settings, Transcode Settings...  Someone Please explain???

#3 Edit Quality Presets??

#4 Longform For H.264???

#5 AND THE BIGGIE QUESTION OF ALL TIME??? Why is it that there are INTERLACED options/settings to make a Bluray???

(The reason I ask is that everywhere I read about Encore it says its job is to Deinterlace during the Transcode. So why Interlacing options?)

IF NOBODY WANTS TO TAKE ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ON, AT LEAST ANSWER WHAT THE MAXIMUM BUT RATE FOR A BURNED BLURAY SHOULD BE???

Why is the disc name on a blu ray disc not showing up in my player?

I set the name of the disc in Encore with the name of my program and then the Blu-Ray player just shows BD-R disc.  I know that I have seen blu-ray players, specifically mine, show the name of the disc when using professionally made discs.  Is there a way to get this all working with Encore?

Burning Blu-ray discs with Premiere Pro CC 2017

I just purchased PP CC 2017 and edited an event.  Now I want to burn it onto a Blu-ray disc.  I cannot find any instructions on how to do this.  All the tutorials that I have found relate to PP CC 2016.  I was told by a chat person that PP CC 2017 no longer comes with Encore and that the latest version of Encore (CS6) is not compatible with PP CC 2017.  They say that you now have to use Media Encoder to burn discs with PP CC 2017 but I can not find any instructions on how to do this.

Can anyone help me with this or do you know of a goodtutorial that explains it?

One more thing; I am at the Beginnerlevel of working with Premiere Pro CC 2017 so please do not assume I know all the details of how it works.  I have burned DVDs with Premiere Pro before but that was about 10 years ago and I haven't worked with it much since then and it seems the process of burning discs is quite a bit different.  Thanks!

Title remote not set

I have been working with premiere and encore for short time. I created a dvd in premiere and all went well. I then exported it to encore set up my time lines menus etc. But for some reason my title remote is not set and it's the only thing I can not figure out. I have been able to figure out just about everything else even though I'm new to this level of authoring. GREAT app and a little over my head but I'm wanting more control and ability.

So what did I miss

Adobe Premiere CS6 & Encore CS6.

Adobe  Premiere CS6 & Encore CS6.  I have used the Dynamic Link to make DVDs direct from Prem. CS6 To Encore CS6 several times but only for projects much less than 1 hour with no menus etc.  I have now been asked by a colleague to make a DVD of a stage show of about 1hr 50 minutes. Naturally I discovered that Encore said there was not enough space on the disc and colleagues tried teaching me the mysteries of ‘compression’.

During the course of all this studying, suddenly Encore decided it would transcode the project from Prem CS6 and a DVD was easily made. So far as I knew no changes to the Encore automatic settings were made. That was the good news. However when I tried to repeat the project, Encore once more gave the error message that there wasn’t enough space on the disc. I am totally baffled. Can anyone help please?

Thanks.  Pete

Encore CS6 Blue Ray Burning problem

$

I am writing because I have a question that perhaps you someone can answer. Here's the scenario:

I use the Adobe CC suite on a fast, fully-loaded late 2015 iMac. I've assembled 10 videos in H.264 format using Premiere Pro. Most of the movies are about 3-5 minutes long. Two of them are roughly 23 minutes long. I want to ultimately put them on a Blu-Ray disc with 2 menus created in Photoshop. Although Blu-Ray burning has become increasingly less popular, I find that even with the fastest internet speeds, there's always a delay showing movies via computer to Apple TV or directly connecting to TV via a long HDMI cord. I love the crisp, clean non-compressed look of Blu-Ray and the ease of popping it into the player and jumping from movie to movie using a menu.

I bought an OWC Mercury Pro Blu-Ray disc burner from B&H and have had no trouble burning regular DVD-Rs on it, so I know it works. I also burned a data Blu-Ray DVD and that works fine. The OWC is a top of the line machine that was recommended for home theater Blu-Ray disc burning.

I've watched many Encore CS6 YouTube tutorials and some Lynda.com tutorials as well. As you all know, Adobe does no longer offers CS6 tutorials. I set up the 10 movies and 2 menus in Encore CS6 and they work perfectly within the program prior to "building." I set up the transcoding specs to "MPEG-2, 1920 X 1080 for Blu-Ray". The movies total about 16GB of material (already compressed in the H.264 format). When I try to build the disc I get this message. See screen shot:

Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code:"3", Note: Create StcSequence: Fail to write M2S file.

Inline image 1

Apparently, M2S files are the MPEG-2 format. After trying the big project a few times with no success, I put another quickie "test project" together: a 2 minute movie with a single button menu. I even went to Adobe Media Encoder and converted the H.264 file into two separate Ac3 audio/m2v video files and dragged them to the Encore timeline. It successfully burned to regular DVD-R, but I got the same error message when trying to burn the test project to a Blu-Ray disc with Encore CS6.

Basically, I'd like to know how to go about getting ten H.264 movies (that add up to about 80 minutes of footage) on to a Blu-Ray disc to be played on a consumer Blu-Ray player. It's taken me months to edit and create the materials. I'm not one to give up. Personally, I don't care for cheesy pre-made template menus. That's why I made my own.

Any suggestions from anyone you know would be greatly appreciated. I Googled info about Roxio's Toast software and it has mixed reviews. It's $100 for the download. Don't know if it's worth it. Tried to online chat with their 24/7 tech support and they were terrible - oblivious. Other "free download" software I researched is only Windows compatible. The Toast DVD app cost me $35 and froze after downloading it from the Mac App Store. Apparently, it is listed as Mac compatible on the App store, but, guess what? It's not. I complained to both Roxio and Apple. Of course, Apple issued me a refund.

Hope there's someone out there who still burns Blu-Rays.

Thanks.

Error importing Premiere project as timeline in Encore

I edited 25 video sequences in Premiere Pro CC2015, then exported them as H.264 .mp4 PAL videos in 720p with AAC audio, then imported them in premiere pro cs5 because CS5 supports Encore chapter markers. And now when I try to import CS5 premiere project as timeline in Encore I get the http://prntscr.com/gczpu8 error.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell laptop with Intel i5 560M, 8GB RAM and Intel HD 5000 graphics.

.mp4 videos are 25 FPS

Encore CS6 "photoshop does not appear to be installed"

It looks like this has been discussed in the (distant) past. The answers don't appear to be valid any more.

I have Encore CS6 installed along side CC 2018. All apps seem to be installed and functioning well. The one problem I have is that when I create a menu from a template in Encore and then want to edit it in Photoshop, I get the message "Photoshop does not appear to be installed". Anyone have new information about what could be happening?

Thanks.

Getting PProCC2019 Captions into Encore??

$
0
0

I've basically figured out how to create Captions within PPro, but I don't want to BURN them into the resulting video.  I want to use them as Subtitles on the DVD and/or Blu-Ray that I create in Encore.  Problem is, PPro doesn't seem to export ANY of the forms of captions I can create in it to a format that Encore can import!

What am I missing? (Aside from the money to purchase a ridiculously expensive Plug-in that might facilitate this, that is!)

Also confusing me... When I click Import Subtitles in Encore, the dialog that comes up show three different formats that it accepts, but says that every one of them is in Text (.txt) format files!

I know that Adobe has basically decided that no one burns disks anymore, but why the HUGE disconnect between Captioning/Subtitling in Premiere and Subtitling in Encore?

Okay, sorry, I've drifted from the key question (all else is discussion more than desperate plea), so I'll re-state it...

How do I get Captions/Subtitles from Premiere Pro CC 2019 to Encore (which I don't believe has a CC version)?

Thanks in advance!

Encore crashes under Windows 10

Hi,
I've been forced to upgrade to Windows 10 from W7 due to the new version of Premiere Pro 2019.

After a complete fresh install of Windows 10 and also CC Encore just won't run. It crashes with out an error just after it starts up. I've tried running it in compatibilty mode but that still makes no difference.

Windows 10 is up to date and patched with all the lastest releases.

Any help or advice is verty welcome how to fix this?

Encore compiling error because of pop-up menu

I created dozens of blu-rays, always with the same pop-up menu template.

Only the background and buttons are changed from project to project.

But this time the blu-ray built crashes and I get an error message saying:

"code 6", "Graphics buffer underflows" - Failed to multiplex with maximum IG PTS: 54900000 (in 90kHz)

error.jpg

I searched the forums. Seems like I am not the only one and no one found a soluton.

The photoshop file has exactly the same dimensions and dpi like all my other pop up menu pages. But it doesn't work this time. I can't figure out why but I know the problem is caused by the pop up menus because when I delete the pop-up menu from the project the built works.

I also started from scratch and renamed the files etc.

When I start from scratch and just import a movie file and set the pop-up menu it works. But as soon as I link a chapter it doesn't work and I get the "buffer" error.

Also, when I want to preview the blu-ray in Encore and the pop up menus are active it does not work to preview. I get the error message:

"Zeile 21 ist für diesen Streamtyp nicht verfügbar."

I appreciate any help.

Thanks guys and girls.

Encore EOL - but why?

$

So I've been using Encore CS 6 for the past 5 years to create DVDs for my school. People still buy DVDs and Blu-rays!  They last. Internet doesn't always work and hard drives break down after 5 - 10 years. I wanted to install it today on a few other desktops with DVD burners to multiply my efforts and sadly found out it is no longer available for download.  My suggestion is to make it free to use and unsupported - it's been unsupported for a while. Why not? It would only help give Adobe a good impression in the eyes of it's long time customers like myself. But completely taking away the option to use at all... dang... that's rough and a tough pill to swallow.  Adobe cannot claim to be a complete multi-media eco-system IMO without supporting the creation of physical media. But maybe they never made that claim but seems to be what they are after judging by the other products they put out. Adobe, why?  I want a complete eco-system!
