Best export settings for blu-ray.

I'm in the process of making a blu-ray that includes a slideshow done in AE. I have several questions regarding export settings that I can't seem to find a solid answer for anywhere online. I want the quality to look excellent once on the blu-ray. I would like to export 60fps if that would look any better than 30/24fps (now or in the future, and if all current HD-TVs would be compatible). I would like to know how many bits per channeI should choose in color settings. I would also like to know if I should disable the layer cache and ignore sequence rendering errors in the 'secret' preferences section. I just watched a tutorial that said to change the bits per channel to 16, and enable those two 'secret' preferences, but the person giving the tutorial didn't explain what they do.

One problem I'm currently having when exporting (a .mov file with PNG compression) is very strange audio (that I can't even notice until I convert the video to something like h.264, and can preview it), and it just started doing this out of nowhere. I exported my project in a Quicktime format using PNG compression to have a 'lossless' quality file without it taking up half my hard drive. From what I've read this is the correct way to export from AE. Then I read that I should take that file and convert it using Media Encoder for whatever resolution/format that I need. What would be the best format to convert to for Blu-Ray using AME?

I am fairly new to AE, but have a good deal of experience with Premiere. I've also been working on PC's since the mid 80s so you can respond in technical jargon if need be and I should be able to follow anything you explain (for the most part).

Ultimately I would like to know the best settings to export from AE and Premiere (for a few other videos), as well as the the best formats to (use with a final export to Blu-Ray in mind). I will not be needing this for the web, dvd, or PC at all (ever). I would also like to know what settings I should use to export a small 'preview' of my project. What I'm trying to do is export at like half the resolution, quickly, and a really small file size, just so I can see what my project looks like so far. I would just use the preview window in AE to do this but don't have a ton of ram and it also doesn't play back audio.

I offer my appreciation in advance for answering this to the best of your ability and know that anyone else trying to do this same thing, which I would imagine will eventually be thousands or millions, will greatly appreciate it too. Thanks and I look forward to hearing everyones input.

After fresh installation on a new machine, my licensed copy of Adobe Encore CS6 "cannot run in non-royalty serialized mode."

"The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."

I have done everything recommended in all of the other threads relating to this issue  -

Uninstalled the entire CS and used the Adobe cleaner tool  - to no avail.

Uninstalled just Encore and re-installed, nothing.

And multiple combinations of the above mentioned.

Really need this to work, ASAP. We've tried to contact Adobe via phone, chat, and other means. They are very to receive an audience from, it appears. Can anyone offer a different solution?

This is for a brand new edit suite that is running Windows 7 pro, 32 GB of RAM, and the i7@3.7 GHz.

How do I import an SRT or SCC file into Encore?

All I want is add subtitles in different languages that can be toggled on and off, the subtitle/captioning service offered .srt and .scc files and neither are working in either Premiere or Encore.

Using CC 2015 on Mac. Thanks very much.

I edited a highlight video in Premiere Pro CC 2018. It plays fine on my Mac Book Pro. When I author is on Encore CS6 it plays pixilated. I changed the settings about 5 times and it still did not come out right. I tried exporting it in Media Encoder, still comes out pixilated.

Uninstall Premiere Pro CS6 and keep Encore

I tried to follow the steps to install Premiere Pro CS6 to get Encore and then uninstall Premiere Pro. Unfortunately, it uninstalled Encore as well and never prompted me to specify what to uninstall. Did this change in the 2015 CC app? It would be great to just have the option to install Encore by itself instead of going 3 versions back.

H.264 or MPEG-2 for 1080 DVD?

Hello,

I am very new to using Encore and I have a couple of questions...

I am using a Windows 7 operating system and I need to make a DVD for our company, preferably in 1080 quality. We don't have blu-ray players or blu-ray discs to write the file onto. Would I still be able to make a DVD in 1080 quality? Right now we have 4.7 GB single layer discs.

My other questions are in reference to the exporting process. I used Premiere Pro CC 2017 to export the file as an H.264 format with  the HD 1080p 29.97 preset selected (I didn't select the 'H.264 blu-ray' format due to us not having those options as stated above)...

I then sent it through Media Encoder and now I'm in Encore. I have the output selected as 1080, of course, but noticed that the only H.264 format option I'm given in the 'Edit quality presets' is H.264 blu-ray. On top of that, when I look to the right of the screen, under dimensions, it's telling me that it's at 720x480.

Again, this is very new to me, so I am quite confused. Can anyone help clear this up for me? Should I even be using H.264 or should it be MPEG-2?

Encore Not Opening

I just downloaded Encore for the first time and when I open it I get an error stating "Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in non-royalty serialized mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number." I have contacted chat support and all they do is uninstall/reinstall Encore, do a clean uninstall of creative cloud and reinstall everything. I have spent hours by myself and with Adobe trying to get this figured out and it is frustrating, I pay over $60 a month so I can have whatever tools I need quickly and not being able to use this has really caused some major stress. Maybe somebody on here has been thru this and found a fix. I have a Windows PC running Windows 10 OS 64bit and am subscribed to the Creatid ave Cloull apps suite. Can someone please help with this, and not uninstall/reinstall because this has been done hundreds of times and has not worked so that is not the issue.  Thanks.

Encore CS6, Photoshop CC, Black DVD menu Highlights

I am using the latest version of Photoshop and Adobe Encore CD6 (because they bailed on it after this). Regardless, am having trouble creating dvd menus.

I create my menus in Photoshop and they work fine. I make sure to name the button layers as you see in the attachment. As you can see, I have no button highlights right now. Yet, when I preview the menu, you can see that the the buttons have this orange highlight. Where is the color for this highlight set in Encore?

Next Question: When I set a highlight in Photoshop (see the 3rd attachment), I have a simple white arrow next to the buttons. Yet, in he preview option in Encore, it changes the words of the button to black (even though the highlight layer does not cover that area) and the white arrow is black (see the 4th attachment).

Ideas?

Thanks.

Encore Blu-ray disc Build problems

When I attempted to build a blu-ray disc image in encore cs6, the software stopped responding.

So in case anyone is having this or other trouble building a Blu-ray disc with encore in 2018, as I have... the solution might be the following:

1. Let Encore do all the transcoding (I guess cc2018 encoder and premiere codecs are too updated to be properly use by encore cs6)

2. Use photoshop 2015 to create the menus.

This worked for me, hope it works for everybody.

BD-RE

I have what may sound like a silly question.

From my other post, the rendering issue has been solved by upgrade to 6.0.1,

however I am getting the following error while trying to write a Blu-ray disc.

"About 5 minutes into to the process I got the message:

"Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note: "Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1.935267 seconds -

looking at the quotes, the message does not seem to be complete. I will search the forum for this error.

My second attempt I got the message:

Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code:"3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to Write M2S file."

Because I have wasted so many Blu-ray discs, I went and bought a BD-RE disc.

Could this be causing the write issue - "Bit rate  is too high"???

I figure the only real dumb question is the one not asked.

Thanks!

Audio Drifts out of sync. Why?

Hello,

I am completely new to Adobe Encore.  I'm using it to author the first-ever Blu-Ray release by our company.

The problem I am encountering is this:

The audio and video files that I have are separate.  They were both encoded to the proper specs and came from the same project file, where they were in sync.  The same company that encoded the video for Blu-Ray did it for DVD using the same in and out points, and when I was making the DVD in DVD Studio Pro, the sync worked perfectly.

Specs:  Video is .m4v at 23.98 progressive 1920x1080 16:9
Audio is .ac3 (I tried using the LCM .aif that I used to make the ac3, but it didn't work either).

I am currently burning a disk image of the Blu-Ray to see if it is just the preview function that is to blame.  However, if the issue doesn't go away, what should I do?  I am 100% certain that the audio and video were handled correctly, so the problem is almost certainly in Encore somewhere!

Thanks for help!

Cheers,

Benjamin

Has anyone figured out how to get this to work with Photoshop CC instead of Photoshop CS6?  (Without removing Photoshop CS6?)
