Has anybody heard if there is going to be an Encore CC come June 17th?

Is it possible to transfer an mp4 film (11 mins long) to dvd in Premiere Pro?  I need to create a dvd for an exhibition and loop the film so that it will play all day in the exhibition.

Maximum .iso Size for Blu Ray

Is there a rule of thumb for the maximum iso file size that will burn to standard 25GB Blu Ray?

I just carefully manged an iso to 23.95 GB only to have Windows File Explorer tell me the file is too large (to fit onto a blank/virgin 25 GB Blu Ray disc).

It is so time-consuming to find this sweet-spot by trial and error ...repeating the export step from Premiere Pro at various compression levels, and subsequent disc build step in Encore.

Surely the pros here know from experience what fits?

(An admittedly quick Google search on this has been remarkably unproductive for a question as mainstream as this.)

Surround Sound AAC on a DVD

I know this question has been asked before - but I've followed a few threads and it hasn't been spelt out how to do it!

I want to burn a 5.1 surround DVD. I've exported the audio as a six channel AAC and imported into into my Encore Timeline and can hear the sound. I've also set my project audio settings to Dolby Digital (is that correct?)

However - I'm finding that Encore wants to encode the timeline into a stereo file. I would assume there would be a box to say Don't Transcode - but there isn't. Just lot's of options how I want to re-encode the audio - which I don't want to do!

Mpeg-2 vs. .mp4 for a DVD, .mp4 is much clearer

When exporting a .mp4 to a mpeg-2 for encore to make a DVD i notice the file

becomes 4 times as big and about 1/5 as clear....it really degrades.

I do remmember reading that Encore can take .mp4 right into the timeline. Is this true?

Can i just drag the high quality .mp4 right into encores timeline for the making of the DVD?

It has audio attached in the file as well. Will i have to bring them in separate ?

Thank You!

Encore CS6 stopped working

Using Adobe CC on HP840 Win 7-64, had CS6 Premium before and kept it to use Encore to burn BD discs for clients.  Worked fine for a while then stopped working telling me the "trial period was over". Chatted with tech support and one good tech took over my system, removed CS6 Premiere with Encore and reinstalled it.  I can open Encore but if I try to do any work on it, or burn a disc from an existing old project I get a window that says "access denied".  Went back to tech support and they referred me to forums.  An expert said that they have no idea what to do.  Does any one have any ideas?   Should I just give up and look for another vendor for DVD authoring (Nero, etc.)?

DVD is bad quality but original video isn't

So I've been trying to make a DVD in Encore CS6 with menus and each time the final product has really bad quality. Either it looks a bit blurry or weird lines appear around edges during camera movements.

The video I want to put on is just over an hour and was edited together in Premiere Pro CC. The sequence settings were at 1920x1080 and 30 fps. Obviously the file format for DVDs is different but I've made a DVD before with a sequence in Premiere Pro CS6 at 1920x1080 (might have been 1280x720 can't remember) and at 25 fps and the DVD was fine.

Because Premiere CC doesn't support Adobe Dynamic Link to Encore I first rendered to an MP4 in the codec H.264 at 30 fps then just imported the MP4 into encore. The preview looked fine but when it rendered and burnt to DVD weird lines appeared around the edges of what was filmed and the video was constantly bouncing up and down. I'm making the DVD Pal btw.

I then tried several times to render from Premiere to an MPEG 2 DVD with various different settings at different frame rates and all had either the weird lines or were just poor quality compared to the MP4 and the original videos that went into the Premiere sequence.

Why is this happening? I've even tried putting the MP4 in Premiere Pro CS6 with the same sequence settings that worked with the previous DVD I made and that still didn't work.

The MP4 is the only one that looks ok. All of the times I rendered to MPEG 2 they looked bad quality before I even put them into encore.

I really appreciate any help.

Thanks

Blu Ray burn bad but DVD good

I used Adobe Encoder to output an H264 blu ray file from an 1 hour and 52 minute mpg4 video.

I then  brought the file into Encore and set up a project. The file did not transcode in encore.

The build said 22.18 used and 2.82 GB free

I made an image for blu ray

I then burned that image onto a Blu Ray

When I played in a player it ran fine until the last few minutes.

I tried this several ways but I can not get a good play. What could I be doing wrong?

Adding foreign characters to text, like u + umlaut

$

Sorry for previously posting in the wrong forum (Production Studio) but here is my question:

My regional settings are straightforward English. However in a current project I need to insert some accented characters into some text labels. So instead of
b "Dinkelsbuehl"
I want to enter
b "Dinkelsbühl".
I've searched the manual and the help files but cannot find an answer. Entering the keycode (alt 0252) for the u+umlaut does not work. Even if the font is plain Arial, it does not seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or is this a current limitation of Encore?

Can I delete the AdobeTmp folder in Windows (without trashing Encore)?

Hi, I am having a system (Windows 7 64-bit) clean-up, and discovered the folder [C:\AdobeTmp] of size is 16.6 GB, mostly due to Encore related subfolders of that.

The "Tmp" suffix suggests I can delete this, like maybe it was only (temporarily) used during installation.  Is that correct?

Encore DVD - 'Total Menu Size Exceeds Limit' is here to stay

Hello everyone!

Another problem with Encore... this application really needs all my concentration and nerves ...

I created a pretty big and complex DVD, exported to iso from time to time to check if it works.

I'm using motion menus for all the menus.

Everythign is m2v, nothing has to be transcoded, Encore eats it just fine.

But after the last steps it added an error called "Total Menu Size Exceeds Limit".

Now, I googled and read about it. The Menu cap of 1GB.

My Menu structure is pretty complex and I have several versions of all the Menus, depending on which subtitle is marked and highlighted and the motion menu background changes accordingly. I'm pretty proud of it.

But now this error appeared and I thought I have to make sure my motion menu videos are smaller so the total size of all the added up menus aren't above 1GB.

Went back to Premiere and exported all those menus again... replaced the files in my finder so Encore can relink them.

And it does. Everything is linked and fine and in the Encore explorer/finder/project window they are shown with the correct size. 15mb per video (before that they were almost 30).

But... in the Built tab the total disk size is still the same! And the project still tells me "Total Menu Size Exceeds Limit" ...

I don't understand... Even with using every video several times for my menus it really shouldn't add up to 1GB!

I deleted all my timelines in my old project (with the bigger motion menu video files) to check what's left... 1,22GB (menus with motion menu videos).

Okay I have to get rid of 0,22GB. I deleted all my timelines in the other project, with every motion menu video exchanged for a much smaller version... still 1,22GB... It didnt change...

What can I do?

Are the menus themselves eating up all the space, not the videos? But with every video now only being almost half the size.. why dont I see a change?

I hope someone has an idea...

Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6", Note:''

I've run into this error a couple of times now...

The current wisdom is to install MSXML 6.0. I was going to try that, but when I went to install 6.0 the installer came back saying that I had a newer version of msxml installed and that I need to uninstall it if I want to install 6.0.

Is this something I should consider doing?

Thanks

How do I get chapter markers from Premiere Pro CC to show up in Encore CS6? I'm exporting as H.264 Blu-Ray

$

I set and named chapter markers in a Premiere Pro CC project, but when I export for Encore using Adobe Media Encoder (as H.264 Blu-Ray) None of my chapter markers are showing up. Is there a trick or a setting to make these show up? I can't add the markers in Encore. Too complex of a project. I need to see the edits in Premiere, and even then it took a while. Project takes 22 hours to render, so I definitely want to get it right on the next pass. Any help would be appreciated.

NTSC/PAL gives error [..\..\src\AMEPresetProber.cpp-270]

Can´t open new or established project in PAL without receiving this code. I can´t change preset NTSC to PAL. Violation with blue-ray is another error that comes up.

I have reinstalled win 8.1 since I thought it had something to do with win10 that I upgaded to. But it´s still the same problem. Right now I feel like through CS6 away and change to AVID or some editing software where you at least can talk on the phone with someone.

Anyway, I still hope that there might be someone out there that can help me with this issue.

I have:

Blu-ray image build fails with LPCM error

$

hello,

Using CS6 Encore

I have created H.264 files (.264, .264.Stereo1) for a 1:04hr sequence using Matrox

- 1920x1080p 23.98fps

- both 27.0 and 30.0 target data rate, Constant Bit Rate CABAC, H.264 level of 4.1

and when I try to build a Bluray image using them, the build fails with the message:

EncoreCS6_error.png

Error: "invalid format", Code: "14", Note: "Bits per Sample of LPCM is illegal. 32"

I first got this error using target data rate of 30 (default) - then I dropped it to 27.0 and still got the error.

I then tested with a 1min H.264 file created using the same above settings and the image was successfully created.

In CS5.5, when I had similar errors, I dropped the target data rate to 27.0/27.1 and the build would complete without errors.

I can't find any discussion of the above error on the web or on these forums - perhaps my search terms were not good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to successfully build another 1hr blu-ray image with default settings (target data rate 30) a few days back.

In both successful and unsuccessful cases, the source sequence is a 1920x1080i 29.97fps Matrox AVI file, which I convert to 1920x1080p 23.98 fps in AME using Matrox to create the .264/.264.Stereo1 files, which I then import into CS6 Encore and create the image.

Encore CS5.5 was a pain in that it would hang on source files larger than 2GB - I came across a Adobe forum/support thread suggesting using the workaround of importing to the Encore timeline files <= 2GB in size.
