Blu Ray Motion Menu Stutters/Skip at Loop Point

I have created a blu ray project with a motion menu that is 1 minute 13 seconds (01:13:12) long. I have set the loop point to 00:08:10. When I preview the project the video and audio skips or stutters (as in it stops playing for half a second and then starts playing again). It happens right at the loop point - where the buttons come in. This also happens when I build the project to an iso image and play it back with my blu ray player software as well as after I burned the iso to disc and tested it on my BD player.

Screen shot of the motion menu settings:

Capture.PNG

The text for the 2 buttons on the menu (Play / Episodes) are part of the video and the button highlights are dotted lines underneath the text which are the (=1) layers in photoshop. I also have a rectangle shape layer in photoshop for each button to create clickable space for instances where the blu ray is being watched on a computer.

Any idea what could be causing the motion menu to skip like this at the loop point?

Thanks!

Fatal Error Code:6, Note: "path for browsable slideshow audio may only be used in playlist with main path clips of type browsable slideshow"

This is the message I'm now getting whenever I try to export my project as a 50GB ISO image. It hangs up whenever it gets around to rendering the slideshows, but it made it through transcoding all the video content just fine.  No matter how many times I read this, the message makes no sense to me and I can't find a reference to any anywhere.

Anybody know the solution?

Some video clips appearing in middle of screen as a smaller image within the background frame

I'm struggling to describe this problem, but when viewing a DVD created with  Encore, some of the sections appear as  smaller clips, within a separate frame in the middle of the screen, rather than them filling the whole screen. This happens with some edits, but not all. I suspect I can get around it by going back to premiere pro and reducing my timeline to just one visible video track, but it's a bit odd. Can anyone help? The movie output from premiere pro to a .mp4 file is fine, with no hint of this problem.  I've put a few similar projects onto DVD before, but never come across this problem. Thanks if you know what's going on...

24P Jittery/ghosting?

I have Encore 2.0 and have this problem, I cannot produce a DVD that properly displays 24P. In PPO 2.0 It works fine, the video looks great, the same familiar cadence as a film, but when I import the video into Encore, in playback on movement, there is "ghosting", and uneven motion. (jitter) Every few frames of movement (or maybe all, can't recall) there is a double, ghostly image.

Export to QT looks great, but that is not a DVD which is what some of my actors demand of me for their demo material.

I've searched the forums and the web, but found nothing. How can this be? Adobe aspires to have it's programs used by filmmakers, yet the program suite can't handle 24P? Having the software to properly handle 24P is the very essence of a startup filmmaker's toolbox. Also it won't export a 24P DVD from the timeline as well. (Missing .dll)

To give Adobe their due, I must admit I have a confusion about whether I need to "interpret footage" in Premiere before export, but this isn't clearly explained as to whether that impacts the final exported file. And anyway, it looks the same whether I interpret footage or not in Encore.

Has anyone run into this before, or is it just my installation?

I bought Premiere Pro CS 6  and that program works fine. Encore does not open. All it says is:

"Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in non-royalty serialized mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."

How can I get this program to open up so I can use it?

Thanks in advance.

I have also attached a screenshot for you to see.

Mac and Encore CS6 user here. I've been using the last dying version of Encore () on OSX 10.8.5 with no major issues for several months now (yes I know it's technically not supported beyond 10.7.x).

I'm just curious if anyone has tried it on the new Mavericks update yet and if so please post your results here. I may test it myself in the coming weeks and if I do I'll provide an update.

Thanks.

Encore Won't Open so Media Encoder Does Not Work

$

Today I went to queue some videos in Adobe Media Encoder that I edited in Premiere Pro CS6 and received a message saying that the program that installed ME was not activated. Turns out it was Encore and when I went to open Encore I got the following:

"Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in a non-royalty serialized mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."

When I click OK and it closes. This is preventing me from use Encore (which I don't really use) and Media Encoder, which I use quite frequently.

What are my options here? I've tried rebooting, but that didn't do anyting. Is there an actual issue with my serial number, or is there a problem with the program itself? Is there any kind of workaround to get Media Encoder running?

Effect of ignoring "Title Remote Not Set" message

$

When I build an autorun DVD with no menu (Encore CS5) and set the timeline as first play, the build test shows a "Title Remote Not Set" message... which I have always ignored and gone ahead with the project build to ISO (other than "not set" the only option in the Disc tab is for "Stop" which I don't think I want)

I have 2 DVD players, and neither remote control has a TITLE button, so I just figured I could ignore what seems to be a warning, not a real "error" that would stop the project

But... I'm curious... is there some part of the DVD specification that I'm missing, and will having the "Title Remote Not Set" cause some kind of problem?

I have Encore CS6 Installed and it is working (as far as I can tell)..  There are no menu templates or presets available.  Is there a way to find these?  Is there a CC upgrade for Encore?

Create a 16:9 Widescreen DVD with 1920x1080 video; Resize needed?

$

Trying to help a customer, and finding myself in unfamiliar territory.

We manufacture DVD's... don't really author them.

Customer asked us to take their video and create a simple menu.  Easy enough... so I thought!

The DVD was provided in 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps.

They want a SD DVD.

Each of the chapters was provided in a seperate Quicktime file.

We import the files as assets into Encore, and then place them in a 16:9 timeline, everything seems fine.

Menues work, no problem.

When we burn the DVD, however, and play it on a standard TV we loose video on both sides.

Obviously, the video is outside of the safety zone.

So, we went into Premier, loaded a file, and then manually resized the video so that it fit into the safety zone.

This seems to make it play properly on a standard 4:3 TV, and we will be testing to see how it works on a widescreen TV tonight.

Is this the right approach... to resize it in Premier?

Seems like a lot of work; especially since the videos are already in the right aspect ratio, etc.  Isn't their some easier way to do it in Encore?

Is it possible to burn a 5.1 surround sound DVD with Encore?

I have imported a video clip from Premiere with a 5.1 audio track but when I burned a DVD what I got was a stereo 2 track. Is there a setting that I'm missing to give me a 5.1 surround sound DVD?

Best Settings For Burning/Writing a Playable Bluray?? ("Everybody" Claims To Be An Expert!!!) HELP!

$

My friend said it best here the other night at my place. Everybody claims to be an expert. One guy says, Maximum Bitrate for a Playable Bluray

is 22 with a target of 20, another guy says 25, this guy says that, that guy says this??? Inside Adobe the setting can be set to up to 40???  After awhile

you just want to pull your hair out!!!

Someone please help me here... I honestly get tired a seeing this... "WELL IT ALL DEPENDS WHAT YOU NEED IT FOR, BLA, BLA, BLA"  I need

it to play on a Bluray Player and be the best possible quality that it can be. I would like to know the best possible Transcoding Settings for a playable Bluray.

People all over the net and in the forums ask, yet the answers are a) THIN, and B) Different people say different Bitrates??? I mean is there

someone out there who has actually experimented with these things so many times that they are a TRUE EXPERT with this??

So, what is so difficult about an Adobe expert coming to the forum and saying... THESE ARE THE BEST QUALITY SETTINGS??

Anyway, Questions.

#1 Why is it that if you click Maximum PROPERTIES (right hand window) it will change from Automatic to Maximum quality and the preset that you choose, however over on the right hand side

if you check your project settings the Bitrate stays the same 15??? (Even though the project size goes up in Megabytes as well)  Yet, you can still change the bitrate up to a Maximum of 40 if you want???

#2 Project Settings, Transcode Settings...  Someone Please explain???

#3 Edit Quality Presets??

#4 Longform For H.264???

#5 AND THE BIGGIE QUESTION OF ALL TIME??? Why is it that there are INTERLACED options/settings to make a Bluray???

(The reason I ask is that everywhere I read about Encore it says its job is to Deinterlace during the Transcode. So why Interlacing options?)

IF NOBODY WANTS TO TAKE ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ON, AT LEAST ANSWER WHAT THE MAXIMUM BUT RATE FOR A BURNED BLURAY SHOULD BE???

Converted (.SRT -> Encore Subtitle text script) never Sync.

Hi all,

I've searched for two days on the web but still no answer.

I'm making a BluRay Disc of a collection of TV Show episodes. I add these episodes as an .m4v file into Encore, which works great. These videos will be transcoded the the appropriat format at the end.

The only problem I encounter is the subtitles: I have an .srt file which runs perfectly sync with the .m4v video file (when I just play it in i.e. VLC, so no Adobe Encore is used)

But when I open the .srt file in a Subtile Editor (Subtitle Workshop, Subtitle Edit, Jubler (MAC) ) and hit ' Save As' Adobe Encore Text Script and import it in Adobe Encore, it starts of as a good sync in the first few seconds of the TV Show episode, but is way out of sync at the end of the episodes... (Sounds like me as an FPS problem?)

I've tried everything, from all different types of FPS output of the subtitle file, to all different project FPS settings.

My main project is 23,976FPS BluRay NTSC, my VIDEOFILE.m4v is 23,976FPS and my subtitles are 23,976FPS.

I really hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Christiaan.

Encore 5.1 crashing after upgrade to Mavericks

$

Hello everyone,

Like many Mac users, I recently upgraded to the Mavericks OS. Since then, I've had issues with Encore freezing up whenever I try importing anything into it. I get the endlessly spinning wheel and ultimately have to force quit, shut down, and restart. I am currentlyrunning Creative Suite 5.5. I've looked at upgrading to 6, but I really dislike the notion of a forever-monthly fee, and it looks like there is no guarantee that this step would fix my issues. I'm not even 100% certain that Mavericks is the cause, but it's the only thing that has changed that I can think of. Anyone have any suggestions?

Burning Blu-Ray discs with Encore CS6

$

I had another forum thread going with this topic but it was getting to be quite long and was not giving me the answers I was looking for so I thought I would try starting a new discussion.

Before you reply to this question, please understand that while I have dabbled off and on (mostly off) with simple video editing with Premirere Pro for nearly 10 years, I still consider myself a 'beginner' so if you want to respond, please use language that a beginner can understand.  For instance; " Create an iso image" is WAYover my head!  I have no idea what that means or how to do it.

I'm currently using Premiere Pro CC 2017 . I've already done all of the editing and now just need to burn the 1 1/2 hour sequence onto a Blu-ray disc that my client can play on a home Blu-ray player. I'm using a PC with Windows 7 and I do have a Blu-ray burner.  I have also downloaded Encore CS6.

Here are my questions:

1.  Exactly what Format and Preset settings should I use in the Export section of Premiere 2017 to create the files needed to author a Blu-ray disc (NTSC 1080)?  1080i or 1080p?  Is frame rate critical (the sequence was edited at a frame rate of 29.97 but it's OK if the output is 23.97 fps)?  There will be no menus and the quality should be good but doesn't 'have' to be broadcast quality.  As long as it plays in my client's home Blu-Ray player without any problem.  It's fine if it just starts playing as soon as they insert the disc.  I want to keep this as simple as possible!

2.  I have tried Exporting the sequence several times with different settings and I've noticed that Premiere creates 4 different files; MP4, XMP, XMPSES and WAV.  Are all 4 needed to author the Blu-Ray or just certain ones?  Which ones?

3.  I'm aware that there is no longer a dynamic link between Premiere 2017 and Encore CS6.  Therefore; exactly how do I import the files (and which files?) into Encore CS6 and then what are the steps to authoring a Blu-ray disc?

If you don't have the time or patience to give a complete and thorough responce, or can't stand dealing with 'beginners', then please don't bother.  I've been struggling with this for weeks now and I just want to get 'er done as simply as possible!

Big thanks to everyone who has helped or tried to help me with this dilemma!  I really do appreciate all the good will!

Chris

Not able to duplicate DVD

$

I have made DVD's using Premiere Pro CS6, Encode CS6, and duplicated them using a duplicator for a few years now.  Recently I have not been able to duplicate my DVD's on the duplicator.  The DVD plays fine on both Mac (Sierra) and Windows 10, however I am not able to make any copies using the duplicator.  Recently each DVD I make starts to copy in the duplicator and as it reaches the end (around 85% or 90% complete) then it suddenly says "Bad Master" and terminates the process.  I am at a loss to what is going on I have tried different DVD's and no luck.  My setup has worked with no problems for a number of years until now.  Anyone got an idea to what my problem could be?
