How to export Premiere Pro CC projects to Encore

$

I've tried the route of exporting picking the MPEG2 DVD option, but my video looks horrid.  I tried importing my sequence to Premiere CS6 in order to "send to encore" via dynamic link. Unfortunately it won't read the sequence. Why won't Adobe just add "send to encore" via dynamic link like before? I spend 13 hours off and on yesterday just trying with Adobe reps over phone to get Encore to work. This is really kililng me right now. My clients are not happy.  They want their DVD and bluray and I can't deliver. NOT COOL!

Total menu size exceeds limit?

I finally put my video together in Premier and output it as an mpg2 dvd video. According to Encore, the file is 3.77 GB. What I don't understand is, the check project window says, "total menu size exceeds limit". I only have one menu button that says, play, so it can't be the menu can it? What I've read is that the multiplex setting is duplicating the audio file maybe? I'm not sure what that means, I only know, the file should be small enuf to fit on a 4.3 Gig DVD. What can I do to get this blasted DVD finished? I"m working in CS 4. thanks

Adobe Staff and Forum Members,

I was transcoding a project in Encore 2.0 when I received the following error message when the transcoding was close to finished: Building Playlist. . . Failed. Adobe Encore DVD. Operating System Error - number OXOOOOOO20 - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. I have all programs and background software closed. The is DVD has 8 chapters and three playlists with no motion menu. Does anybody have any ideas. I sure don't want to create the project again in Encore 1.5. Any help would be appreciated.

Internal Software error PGC for encore CS3 !!! solved !!!

$

Almost everybody here knows the next error:

PGC "timeline name" has an error at xx:xx:xx:xy internal software error : %0, line timeline name - PGCINFO: name= timeline name, ref=BPGC, time=xx:xx:xx:xy

Where the y in time stands for the length of the timeline minus 2 frames. The BPGC error can also be FPGC or DPGC dependant on how many menu's there are in the project.

It kept me awake for weeks and after reading this forum several times and comparing encore CS3 with encore 2.0 filenames I found the solution.

This Error is a bug in encore witch has nothing to do with blank filename spots and sonic coding or codecs or planning your workflow with a pencil but pure with the combination Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Encore CS3.

This is what generates the problem:

In Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 you build project with video, sound and chapters. Then you export the project via the Media Encoder not Multplexed.

Premiere CS3 then creates the following files:
filename.M2V (video file mpg)
filename.AC3 (audio file ac3)
filename.M2V.XMPSES (an adobe file with preview info and chapter pointers)
filname.XMP (??)

It is the .M2V.XMPSES file witch creates the PGC error. If you use the MULTIPLEX DVD option then ADOBE will not create the .M2V.XMPSES file so there will not be an error. This trick mentioned by ADOBE and many others is just to go around the bug instead of solving it. Also with multiplex you have just one sound track. I use two sound tracks like 5.1 and a 2.0 track witch you can choose in a menu.

Some people say it is the blank spots. Also not true. They have probably just erased the blank spots of the M2V file and forgot the .M2V.XMPSES file.

When you just delete the .M2V.XMPSES file and then open the M2V and AC3 file in Encore as a new asset, make a timeline and menu's and the project will built and burn. Only if you delete this .M2V.XMPSES file Encore takes a longer time to import the M2V file and will be without the chapter points.

Almost everything else will work like menu with sound and even a movie background (use M2V files). Only the motion buttons in a menu still wont work unless you use a black background !?!. Haven't figured this out yet. Only solution for this is use Encore 2.0. In this older version also the motion buttons will work without error's (everything else also so why buy CS3??)

Here is what you must do create a DVD without errors:

-Create a project in Premiere Pro, even with chapters.
-Write down all chapter points (minutes:seconds:frames)
-Create two new unique maps in explorer for example D:DVD1 and D:DVD2
-Export in Premiere with Media Encoder without the Multiplex:DVD but with NON to the D:DVD1 map
-Copy from D:DVD1 only the M2V and AC3 files to D:DVD2

-Start up Encore DVD CS3 or 2.0
-Create a new unique project in Encore for example "DVD" and save this in the map D:DVD2\
-Then use Save-as (under file) and pinpoint to D:DVD2\dvd to be sure that all Encore's files are placed in this folder.

-Select M2V file and make new timeline.
-Make chapter points (you wrote down the points, did you?)
-Create menu's, even with sound (AC3) and movie background (M2V)
-Then render project if you have used a video for menu background
-Finally Built and burnnnnnn!!
-If you like to use motion buttons in a menu then use Encore 2.0

I have double checked my work flow and it really works. I have built a project and burned with success Then I deleted the timeline and the M2V file. Copied the .M2V.XMPSES file in the used folder. Re loaded the M2V file in encore (this time much faster! and with chapter points). Tried to built and burn and back was the error. Also this happened in in Encore 2.0!!

Hope that this will solve the PGC error once and for all !!!

Motion Menu - video thumbnail change?

$
0

I have a load of motion menus on a Blu-Ray project which play part of the scene that they link to. I was wondering if it was possible to change just one of the video thumbnail previews to another video? I can't seem to find any setting or anything online about it. I know you can choose any video for the menu background video, but this is for one of the scene selection thumbnails.

Here's a picture:

Burning to image file nightmare

Hi Guys

I'm trying to burn a 1hr 6sec project as an ISO image file. My movie file is 4GB.

I have divided this movie into 18 chapters which I linked correctly. There are no errors when check the project for errors. My project has NO sub titles - just the video and audio.

My first sub menu (scene selections) is named scenes 01-06, and this is where the problem lies!

When I burn the image file I get the message like "the sub-title or subpicture is too complex to be encoded". I get the same message when I try to burn to a Verbatim DVD+RW. This message is driving me nuts. I waited over 4 hours in Premiere Pro to have the project rendered, now I cannot do a simple burn in encore.

I made all my menus to be motion menus, animated buttons, and looped forever, for 15secs. I previewed my project and everything looks OK.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards

LF

Adobe Encore - Completely Useless for Bluray

Hello,

I'd just like to post my experiences for creating a blu-ray disc with Adobe Encore... actually I've been unable to create a proper bluray with this useless program.

Here's what happens:

Adobe Encore CS3: Error --- "Out of Memory"   -- The bluray will not even compile.

Adobe Encore CS4:  The project compiles into an iso.  The main menu begins to loop at a *1 second* interval, even though I set it to loop every 45 seconds.  Within this 1 second, obviously you can't access any items in the menu.

Adobe Encore CS5:  The project compiles into an iso.  The main menu works fine, however, when I try to access two items in the menu... they don't work at all.  Also my first play video is completely black.

I'd just like to know, isn't Adobe ashamed to release such useless programs for 3 generations without bug fixes?  Programs which cost a lot of money.

I have to admit, Encore did work fine for my dvd projects, but maybe it should stick to being just a dvd authoring program.

After a week of trying to work out my bluray with these programs, I have to start looking for alternatives.

Thanks to the fine Adobe engineering team for releasing this trash for generations straight.

Encore CS 6 Won't Open Up???? "Non Royalty Serialized Mode?????

I bought Premiere Pro CS 6  and that program works fine. Encore does not open. All it says is:

"Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in non-royalty serialized mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."

How can I get this program to open up so I can use it?

Thanks in advance.

I have also attached a screenshot for you to see.

Best font to use for Subtitles?

Hi All,

Are there some standard fonts (best) used in the dvd industry for subtitles?  It would be nice to use fonts that come with Adobe Encore CS5, or ones that are free off the net, if those are good options as well.

Thanks,

Will

Make Blu-Rays That Play on Every Blu-Ray Player

You need to make it so the blu-rays we generate from Enocore play on ALL blu-ray players.

In the worst case, you NEED to publish a list of which players WILL play your product.

I just sent out some blu-rays from Encore CS4 and although they would play on my Playstation 3, they would not play on major brand sep top players (like Sony.) Shocked at this, I called Adobe Support. The operator advised me that "home made blu-rays are not going to play on all players, it's just not going to happen."

This was a hoot. "Home Made"? This is ADOBE ENCORE, not a free bundle of no-name software that came with my Acer. What are you thinking?

It defeats the point of making blu rays if players cannot read them.

Audio Drifts out of sync. Why?

Hello,

I am completely new to Adobe Encore.  I'm using it to author the first-ever Blu-Ray release by our company.

The problem I am encountering is this:

The audio and video files that I have are separate.  They were both encoded to the proper specs and came from the same project file, where they were in sync.  The same company that encoded the video for Blu-Ray did it for DVD using the same in and out points, and when I was making the DVD in DVD Studio Pro, the sync worked perfectly.

Specs:  Video is .m4v at 23.98 progressive 1920x1080 16:9
Audio is .ac3 (I tried using the LCM .aif that I used to make the ac3, but it didn't work either).

I am currently burning a disk image of the Blu-Ray to see if it is just the preview function that is to blame.  However, if the issue doesn't go away, what should I do?  I am 100% certain that the audio and video were handled correctly, so the problem is almost certainly in Encore somewhere!

Thanks for help!

Cheers,

Benjamin

Encore: no sound from ac3 Sound generated by Premiere

Video offset to bottom right corner in Encore but all ok in Premiere

$

I'm an amateur still on Premiere CS4.2.1 and have been trying to make a 2 1/2 hour film to save as a DVD.

I have something in PPro which I am ok with, and seems when I preview it in that to run just fine. I have also made an Encore project with appropriate menus, chapter markers and whatnot.

If I ask Encore to render the DVD project it returns (about 28 hours later!) with a mostly ok VIDEO_TS folder, but around some (but not all) of the chapter marks some sections of film have been offset about 1/3 to the bottom-right corner. This offset seems about the same amount each time it happens, and when it doesn't happen it is all quite fine.

The film makes use of zoom-type effects, where I've cropped/zoomed in digitally c.f the original film, and I wonder if that has anything to do with this? I used the 'transform' effect to do this with Position and Scale changes along the timeline.

I have now downloaded PPro CC trial, but as it doesn't include Encore I'm a bit stuck. Has anyone any ideas why this might be happening?

If I can somehow get a good render of the film, perhaps using Media Encoder directly, can I tell encore to use that instead without losing all the chapter marks from the original sequence?

Thanks

Ruth

No More Blu-Ray Friendly Output?

$

A few weeks ago, maybe a month, I burned a blu-ray of SD material at 720x480 29.97 UFF, h.264(blu-ray) format using AME-CC. No problem setting 'Do Not Transcode' in Encore CS6.

Now when I re-encode the same sequences using the same presets I can't set to D.N.T. any more. Not even in the same project where the original blu-ray friendly files still work ok.

Did you change something?  Are you weaning us off Encore? Are you the Illuminati running our lives? WHAAAAA???

Warning to anyone buying Encore 2: It requires SSE2. So if you have an older Athlon box like me, you're pretty much SOL.

Thanks for making a big point of this, Adobe. There's $150 down the toilet.

Problem with DVD start in BluRay player

$

Using PremPro CS6 & Encore CS6.  Burned NTSC DVD with 1 Button Menu.  Set proper linkage & ran testing.  Everything shows OK.  When playing in BluRay player it shows my main Menu but clicking on play doesn't start the play.  I discovered I can play the disc with no problem but only if I go to Home 1st. and then enter play.  Disc plays with no problem after that except on the 1st scene there is some verbage that appears for a few seconds.  Plays fine from 2nd scene to end.  While at home it shows a blank "Title 01" to the left.  It acts like I am missing a step in the creation process but I can't determine what is wrong.  Does there need to be some type of Title page or some other way to go the Home screen before the 1st Menu?
