On Encore’s Build panel, Format Blu-ray, the Disc Info shows that 12.45GB is used and 12.55GB is free, even though I hadn’t begun the Build. Why?

On Encore’s Build panel, Format Blu-ray, the Disc Info shows that 12.45GB is used and 12.55GB is free, even though I hadn’t begun the Build. Why? I was expecting 0GB used and 25GB free. Check Project revealed no issues. I don’t know what info to provide for an informed answer, but here is some info:

Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 project to Encore CS5.1:  (after 1.5hr rendering) Adobe Dynamic Link – Send to Encore – New Project dialog: Settings: Authoring Mode: Blu-ray.
Default Transcode Settings… Automatic Transcoding: Max A/V Bitrate 40.0 Mbps
(I chose this arbitrarily) Video Transcoding: Codec H.264 (will this provide higher definition than MPEG-2?); Dimensions 1920x1080 (what I want); Frame Rate 29.97 (selecting 59.97 reduces the dimensions to 1440x1080); Audio Transcoding Scheme Dolby Digital (would PCM provide higher fidelity?)

On Encore’s Project panel, two files appeared, Types: Timeline and Premiere Pro Sequence.

I created no menus and no subtitle tracks.

On the Timeline panel, the prproj End Action is Stop, Duration is 00;59;58;14, Menu Remote is Return to Last Menu.  Chapter 1 (the only chapter) Link is Not Set. Properties panel, In and Poster are all zeros, End Action is Not Set.

I burned a BD-R disc at Write Speed 8x (2 hours to transcode) and it was only half utilized. It played fine, but, I got 12.5GB, 2.5X definition instead of 25GB, 5X that of SD. What needs to be corrected to get the full 5X definition?

Notice any other issues, such as transcoding time length?
Thanks, Don
