I've spent the last moth or so learning Adobe's Encore (Stupid that they dropped it & not supporting it) and compared to a lot of other DVD authoring programs it has a steep learning curve. None the less I've put in the time and work to learn it and have a project that's pretty much done and ready to deliver to the person(s) that requested a DVD of this fashion show event me and some family members were part of.
Again, all the major stuff and learning to use Encore is pretty much understood now; the issue I'm having is when me and a family member look at the DVD the menu (customized one of the templates in Photoshop) it looks great, the navigation between buttons is good, the links to the appropriate timeline(s) is good for people that just want to see a certain scene or part of the event; and the "Play All" button is good. The problem is when viewing the DVD on the Playstation 4 or XBOX ONE we can see that the Title and Chapter numbers dont show correctly. For example we'll go to the 3rd chapter in the DVD but when it's playing and we see the title and chapter information it's saying Title1 Chapter 7 or something. Now due to the fact this is my first project with Encore and didnt know at first that it wasnt brought up to CC I dont have any chapter markers set, even if I did in Premiere CC it wouldnt matter cause it's not recognized in Encore CS6. None the less the display of the title and chapter appears to be off.
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? Looking at the program and clicking the different buttons and timelines I dont see anywhere to type or set the appropriate name for titles and menus when they're read by the DVD player. Is there a setting I'm missing or something to set this so it reads correctly on DVD players ?
As my family member said "It's almost perfect", though we could get by without out it, we would like to fix it if we can so that people aren't confused by mismatched title and chapter number when they view and navigate the DVD.
Any and all help and suggetions are appreciated, so what am I missing or doing wrong here ?
