DVD Size issue

I wonder if anyone can help me with this question, I have created a premiere video project which is two hours 30 minutes long (2.30) and want to create a DVD 9 using Encore CS6. (8,54 dual layer) to be used as the Master disk for replication

My project including navigation is 2.574MB used 4.7 GB Free before I import the premiere MPEG2-DVD file

When I import the MPEG2-DVD project into Encore and create a timeline from them it says the project file including audio is 8.53 GB used 5.974 free – 526 kb used for DVD-ROM content.

(However please note that if I select the blue ray option from the format dropdown list it says the project file is 6.21 GB – not sure why this is different)

The question is I have read that you can fit up to 3 hours of DVD onto a DVD 9 my final DVD will be sent off for professional DVD replication and would like to know if I would experience any problems as I heard that if adequate space is left on your DVD master you end users may experience playback issues or even worse your DVD will fail to replicate.

Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Paul.
