Elementary or Program Stream

Hello Everyone,

I have a question.

I want to build a DVD using Encore DVD ,but i would like to ask you How is the media preffered to be imported into Encore?As a Elementary Stream(Audio and Video Separate) or as Program Stream.Would it matter how the mpeg videos are?

Also Do i need to make the mpeg-2 video file into chunks of 1GB as the whole move is 4GB?Do encoders split automatically into 1GB the video when encode it?
