Sorry for the double-post - I accidentally posted in the PP column first go round.
I'm creating a Blu-ray in Encore CS5.5. I built a short (1:30) video to loop as a motion background for the main menu. I import the video and audio as assets, and attach them to the menu (they're encoded as Blu-ray H.264s, but I've also tried a Pro-Res 422 master file).. When I preview the menu at this point, both the video and audio play fine. The minute I add a button however, the video goes black (audio still plays fine, and button is visible). Ultimately, I'm trying to create an original button (not a generic one included), but it happens with either button.
Note - the menu video fades out to black, and in from black, so the first frame/loop point is black. When I reset the loop point to somewhere in the middle, whatever frame it lands on becomes a STILL IMAGE in the background while the menu plays. The music still plays fine and the button is still visible. Also an FYI: The highlight layer is not a full-frame graphic - just a line to "underline" the word "Play" when the button is selected.
I've searched all over the internet and while it appears to be a common problem - I haven't found a solution that's worked yet. Here's what I've tried so far:
Thrown up a generic button (included with Enc).
Dynamically linked menu to PS.
Deleted generic button "group" and created new button group.
Deleted *locked* background layer & created new, unlocked background layer.
Opened After Effects and minimized it in bg.
Emptied cache in Encore.
Reset loop point to :10:00, then reset it back to 00:00.
Cold-booted entire computer.
Used a Encore library menu & attached the assets to that background.
Anybody have ANY ideas???
Thanks!
