Encore menu freezes on older dvd-player app on macbook pro when used with mouse cursor

Hello everyone

- I'm authoring a DVD in Adobe Encore CS6.

- One 80min Movie with 3 different Subtitles (EN,GER,FR). The files for video and audio are m2v/ac3

- The movie has 6 chapters and chapter marks (I set them in Encore, although for the final project I'll possibly export the movie itself with the chapter marks already set from premiere)

- The movie has 3 Menus (1 main menu, 2 sub menus (chapter selection and subtitle selection))

Testing the .iso on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.7.5) with the dvd-player program I noticed that the dvd seemed to always freeze somewhere in the menu. I pressed a button then I waited 10-20 seconds until something happened or only after repeated clicking did it work at all. Sometimes It froze completely, sometimes not.

This problem only occurs when I operate in the menu with my mouse cursor. When I use the up-down-enter keys to choose in my menu everything works fine.

Then I decided to build a second project with the same parameters, the difference this time was, that I hadn't to edit stuff in my menus during the building of the structure of the dvd. (In the hope to avoid any clutter that encore would save and that could disrupt the disc) I also built the DVD with only 4x speed.

The same thing happened, didn't work in the dvd player programm when using the mouse, worked fine on all other plattforms.

I tested this dvd on:

- an old dvd player: no problems

- on a pc with windows 7: no problems

- on another mac (older Mac OS Yosemite): no problems

- new iMac with OS Yosemite: no problems

- on a PS3: no problems

The same game I've now done with Encore CS5 on a PC

took the menus over there, built the project, rendered the .iso image and the same thing happens. It freezes on my MacBook Pro when I operate it with the mouse cursor. With the up-down-enter keys is still no problem

My question now is, why does it not work on my laptop? Other DVD's always played without errors (even burnt ones from Encore CS5 or CS6, although most only have a main menu)

If I open the DVD in VLC-Media Player said burnt disc plays without flaw.

Can the problem be that the software I'm using is too old? (As mentioned OS 10.7.5) But adobe Encore CS5 was released during that Time period when my Laptop software was new, so I have difficulties to imagine that this is the only problem.

And I also don't think that DVD's normally "just freeze a bit" on Laptops with older Software on it …

I'd be really, really grateful If you'd write me back, about my issue, because we plan on releasing the dvd in spring and would like that it works good on as many systems as possible.

Sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker.

best regards and thanks a lot for your effort

Sue
