IMHO, the finest Burn tool available for free/donationware. Has build/write/discovery/ISO modes, and can easily handle DL media including perhaps the easiest Layer Break dialogue I have ever used - including a cell preview. Indispensable. If ever there was a "must-own" piece of software - this is it.

This will give you the superb BlackMagic Quicktime codecs. Perhaps the best SD codec available? I think so. comes in 8 or 10 bit versions, as well as RGB 10 bit.

IMHO, another one of those tools that are indispensable. although the learning curve is steep it is well worthwhile. Will allow you to edit any & all aspects of the DVD, from menus to timelines, from button links to Layer Breaks. Full preview modes. Can save to folder or image.

The best Standards Conversion package available, bar none. Forget ProCoder, After Effects or any of them - use this.
The same company also does other tools I use all the time:
Raylight Decoder - a set of codecs for Quicktime, as Native Mac HDV files from Final Cut Pro are *not* cross-platform. Get them saved to DVCPROHD instead, and then open them right up on your PC desktop in Quicktime Pro, where you can do what you need to.
Also, DV Film Maker - turns DV into what looks like 35/70mm film. Much cheaper than Magic Bullet. Doesn't have the options of the Bullet, but Premiere & After Effects do.
Finally from DV Film, Raylight System. Takes PX2 or MXF files & converts to Raylight AVI. Can be edited or mucked around with either on the desktop, or in Premiere (using Desktop mode & VFW option, set to Raylight AVI codec. True HD output at a fraction of the cost, plus upscaling/downscaling all the way from DV to 1080p full-frame.

If you are creating commercial titles then I believe you need this application. It works alongside the authoring tool of your choice (Encore, DVD-Lab Pro) and facilitates the easy creation of DLT Masters, or DDP-DVD discs, CMF-DVD etc. You can even FTP the images directly from the interface to replication. All types of disc created: CD, VCD, SVCD, DVD-V, DVD-A, WMV-DVD, WMV HD DVD-V, DVD-A/V - anything.

Very useful for getting into the nuts & bolts of the all-important IFO files - the ones that actually tell your DVD player what to do with all the VOB files. Invaluable when setting Layer Breaks using GEAR Pro Mastering Edition.

Don't know what codec created the assets you need to use in the latest DVD? This will tell you all you need to know.
