Why does my timeline aspect ratio change when I import my asset?

$

Paul, I am having a problem with creating a DVD.  I am using Adobe Encore for the first time and it is forcing my timeline to go from a 16:9 to a 4:3.  My aspect ratio on the video clip is 1280 x 720 square, which seems correct, but once i plug the asset in, it puts a tiny 16:9 viewing box inside the 4:3 window…

Any thoughts?

write speed on encore

What is considered a reasonable length to Write a near 2 hour DVD in encore CS6?

It seems to take over 45 minutes to write the DVD (not encode - that has already been done). It takes this length of time, despite being on 2 machines (replaced old machine earlier this year) - and a different DVD recorder.

Sense Code 37303

I have the current CC and Encore CS6 on Windows 8.1

I have a client who wants two DVDs and one Blu-ray disk. Both were separate exports from PP with the Blu-ray and DVD preset settings.

HERE'S THE WEIRD THING...

Blu-ray and DVD #1 burnt just fine with NO ISSUES.

DVD #2, however, is why I'm writing. I can't get the second disk to burn AT ALL. Encore keeps stopping mid-burn and the error message I get says

"Encore was unable to complete the operation because of a hardware error (Sense Code 37303). Please contact the hardware manufacturer for more information."

Things I've tried:

I tried a different DVD disk in case there was an issue with the first one - same result.

I created a new Encore project and re-imported my DVD file - same result.

I've tried going online and searching specifically for the error code "37303" with no positive results. There are several that offer suggestions which I have tried, but they're more specific to MAC than to PC.

One suggestion was to try the lowest possible burn speed of "1X" - same result there, too.

So, I'm totally confused. This project already burnt successfully twice in both Blu-ray and DVD. It's just the second DVD disk that is freaking out on me. Any suggestions?

Things I'm going to try next.

Re-export my project from PP - same settings.

I don't know if it will work, but I might try using the Blu-ray exported file in my DVD project and see if Encore will transcode it in a way that will work.

I might try exporting from PP in an uncompressed QuickTime or .avi format and letting Encore transcode that.

I will go ahead and throw caution to the wind and try a THIRD blank DVD.

I will try to see if I need to download an updated driver or firmware for my burner.

I'll report on my findings...if there are any positive ones.

I'm hoping SOMEONE will have an answer to this, but based on my search results online, many people have asked but few have gotten satisfactory answers.

My program keeps crashing at launch. It gets passed the open step but as soon as I create a document it crashes. I just installed the program as part of the earlier version on creative cloud of Premier 6. I uninstalled premier 6 and kept my creative cloud version and encore. But it keeps crashing. I just need to output my video to a DVD!

Best export settings for blu-ray.

I'm in the process of making a blu-ray that includes a slideshow done in AE. I have several questions regarding export settings that I can't seem to find a solid answer for anywhere online. I want the quality to look excellent once on the blu-ray. I would like to export 60fps if that would look any better than 30/24fps (now or in the future, and if all current HD-TVs would be compatible). I would like to know how many bits per channeI should choose in color settings. I would also like to know if I should disable the layer cache and ignore sequence rendering errors in the 'secret' preferences section. I just watched a tutorial that said to change the bits per channel to 16, and enable those two 'secret' preferences, but the person giving the tutorial didn't explain what they do.

One problem I'm currently having when exporting (a .mov file with PNG compression) is very strange audio (that I can't even notice until I convert the video to something like h.264, and can preview it), and it just started doing this out of nowhere. I exported my project in a Quicktime format using PNG compression to have a 'lossless' quality file without it taking up half my hard drive. From what I've read this is the correct way to export from AE. Then I read that I should take that file and convert it using Media Encoder for whatever resolution/format that I need. What would be the best format to convert to for Blu-Ray using AME?

I am fairly new to AE, but have a good deal of experience with Premiere. I've also been working on PC's since the mid 80s so you can respond in technical jargon if need be and I should be able to follow anything you explain (for the most part).

Ultimately I would like to know the best settings to export from AE and Premiere (for a few other videos), as well as the the best formats to (use with a final export to Blu-Ray in mind). I will not be needing this for the web, dvd, or PC at all (ever). I would also like to know what settings I should use to export a small 'preview' of my project. What I'm trying to do is export at like half the resolution, quickly, and a really small file size, just so I can see what my project looks like so far. I would just use the preview window in AE to do this but don't have a ton of ram and it also doesn't play back audio.

I offer my appreciation in advance for answering this to the best of your ability and know that anyone else trying to do this same thing, which I would imagine will eventually be thousands or millions, will greatly appreciate it too. Thanks and I look forward to hearing everyones input.

Error while rendering: Export file not found - what to do?

Hi,

I have been editing my video in four different premiere pro projects (as I got adviced to do from these forums because it's AVCHD clips). I have rendered these four projects and burned to four DVD's (total playtime is around 1.5hours) - which is working fine.

But then I try to import all four projects into one big master project because I want to make a blu-ray iso. The import goes fine (I import like this: File > Import > Choose project > Import entire project)

I export to encore, make the menus etc. and click "build" to start rendering. The problem is that after some time I get this error:

Blu-ray Object: "sequence-name-here/project-name-here.prproj", Export file not found

I have seen this error before while rendering some of the four individual projects - but when I saw them I simply just tried again by exporting to encore from the projects again. This seemed to work - but with the big master project I have tried several times with no luck.

Can anyone help me fix this issue? :)

Since Adobe does not care about Encore anymore, what is a great alternative that I can use for creating DVDs?

No Audio in "Adobe Dynamic Link" to Encore

$

I have a project in Premiere Pro CS5 that I have used "Adobe Dynamic Link" to bring the project over to Encore CS5.  The project comes over and I can see both the video and audio tracks.  The problem is that when I play the timeline the video plays but the audio does not play.  The same thing happens in Preview, video but no audio.  Both the video and audio play correctly in Premiere Pro CS5 before I bring the project over.

Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Why does Encore changes the Aspect Ratio everytime.

So today has been completely wasted due to Encore not functioning as it should. I have footage that is 16x9 that plays fine, but once It goes into Encore, and encore encodes it, it converts it to 4x3.

I have tried making multiple presets, I have tried converting the footage to a new file,  but with no such luck.

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

How can I get the Encore cs6 library files.

ENCORE CS5 'FREEZES' WHEN TRANSCODING

I have built a project (3.75 minutes) in PremierePpro CS5, consisting of AVCHD, stills, and audio tracks. It plays correctly in that application. I then use 'dynamic link' to send to Encore  CS5 - that seems Ok. However, when building (for DVD) the project (and other similar) appear to get about 3/4 way through (according to the progress bar) then 'freeze'. On cancelling, I get the message 'encore not responsing', followed by 'premiere pro not responding'. Ive tried other methods of getting the project into Encore, but the results are the same.

Any ideas?

Converted (.SRT -> Encore Subtitle text script) never Sync.

Hi all,

I've searched for two days on the web but still no answer.

I'm making a BluRay Disc of a collection of TV Show episodes. I add these episodes as an .m4v file into Encore, which works great. These videos will be transcoded the the appropriat format at the end.

The only problem I encounter is the subtitles: I have an .srt file which runs perfectly sync with the .m4v video file (when I just play it in i.e. VLC, so no Adobe Encore is used)

But when I open the .srt file in a Subtile Editor (Subtitle Workshop, Subtitle Edit, Jubler (MAC) ) and hit ' Save As' Adobe Encore Text Script and import it in Adobe Encore, it starts of as a good sync in the first few seconds of the TV Show episode, but is way out of sync at the end of the episodes... (Sounds like me as an FPS problem?)

I've tried everything, from all different types of FPS output of the subtitle file, to all different project FPS settings.

My main project is 23,976FPS BluRay NTSC, my VIDEOFILE.m4v is 23,976FPS and my subtitles are 23,976FPS.

I really hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Christiaan.

Stray frames sneaking in upon build

$

The last two projects/DVDs I have created have had, for lack of a better word, stray frames that randomly appear where they shouldn't be. (a few frames from a scene let's say 15 minutes ahead of a moment appear in a different scene).  It's very fast and very VERY easy to miss when one is proofing a disc (as it literally is 'blink and you'll miss it").  Which is more than a little scary and disturbing.

Any idea what could be causing this? I've had it happen a few times in the past and had thought it was linked to not clearing out the Media Cache but I did that before building this new disc and...it still happened.

The file is a ProRes HQ and I'm having Encore transcode it (as I keep finding it does a better job 'guessing' settings than if I try to do it via Media Encoder first). Maybe I should re-think that but...

Encoding 1080p to DVD -> Black bars on the side

$

Hey Adobe

I'm using this forum because Encore basicly does the same as Adobe Encoder (I tested).

I have few 1080p25 files I need to convert to a DVD.

The problem is, encoder creates black bars left/right. As you can see on the image.

Why is encoder doing this? Something to do with the 'stupid' new aspectratio's?

I hate it there are no options to use the old aspectratio, so the bars dissapear!

DVDSTudio Pro did a great job, it just doenst let me do progressive DVD's

So basicly my question, why can't encoder/encore made a good widescreen mpeg2 (without bars) from a 1080p source?

Error "MSVCR71.dll is missing" - at it does indeed appear to not be there. Encore worked fine last time it was used - about 1 week ago.

Any ideas?

I've also never been able (since first upgrading from CS4 to 5) OnLocation - Error: "The program can't start because LogSession.dll is missing." - However, this file DOES appear to be there where it belongs.

So the big question is do I need to uninstall complete CS5 and reinstall? I don't seem to be able to select individual programs.

If so, do I also need to perform each update in order, or can I go from fresh CS5.0 to current (5.0.2)?

Thanks so much - and why do these things always happen on a Friday?
